Details: The Domaine de Belle Mare is such a tiny estate, yet it produces some of the best small production wines in the area. The estate, better known for its Picpoul de Pinet, also produces small quantities of Merlot & Syrah. The vineyards are situated on the edge of the Bassin de Thau, or Etang (Lake) and the aspect, so close to the Mediterranean, is very favourable encouraging the grapes to grow to an above average size. The style of the wine is soft and gently tannic, which is great for cheese, and has a long pleasant aftertaste, hitting 13.5% alcohol. Well recommended if you would like something for the dark roast.
